The board of the Medfield Foundation, a group of volunteers who are very committed to improving the quality of life in the Town of Medfield, met recently to review how the proceeds from the MFi Angel Run were used this past year. As part of that discussion, it came to our attention that there was a severe need for assistance for families this summer and funds were very short. We all felt that the children in town shouldn’t be forced to miss out on some of the important parts of growing up just because they find themselves in a challenging financial situation at home. We also recognized how difficult it can be to live in what many people perceive to be an affluent town but not have the resources that your friends’ parents may have. Our board decided to step up and create a program we thought could help make a difference – the Children’s Camp Fund. Residents of the Town of Medfield have been very generous in the past – we’ve raised over $1.8 million over the past 16 years – and we believe if families knew there was need out there, they would be generous again. We hope you will support our effort to help local children in need go to summer camp.
