COMMUNITY ASSISTANCE FUND
MISSION STATEMENT
The Medfield Foundation’s (MFi) Community Assistance Fund (CAF) is a fund held by MFi and funded with proceeds from the Angel Run as well as private donations. CAF is administered by MFi and distributed in consultation with the CAF Team which will consist of, at a minimum, one social worker, one faith-based leader and one MFi representative (preferably a board member), all either living or working in Medfield. The CAF Team may consist of additional participants but these three sectors must be represented. The CAF Team will meet regularly, at a minimum 6 times a year, either in person or by video, as long as there are funds to distribute.
CAF will be used exclusively to aid Medfield residents in their time of need. Need is defined as a request for 1) funds in an emergency situation or 2) funds to improve or enrich a resident’s quality of life as it relates to health, education, and/or dependent care. Each household may make such a request one time per year. Requests will be evaluated on a case by case basis by the CAF Team with careful consideration being paid to other sources of funding for such requests. Requests for rent assistance will be considered but any funding allocated to such a request are limited to a one time payment. The CAF Team retains the discretion to determine that a request which does not fit the above stated criteria may still qualify for funding.
Requests for CAF assistance shall be made through the Medfield Outreach office in accordance with their procedures and privacy practices.
The summer camp/pond fund will not be considered part of the once per year limitation and will be considered separately.
