WHO WE ARE
Made up of volunteers from the Medfield community, the MFi Board of Directors sponsors and supports MFi’s initiatives, raises and administers associated funds, and organizes and runs MFi’s volunteer teams and events.
The MFi Legacy Fund Committee, also made up of volunteers from the Medfield community, raises and manages the MFi Legacy Fund, our permanent endowment fund for Medfield, and its Legacy Fund Community Impact Grants Program.
LEADERSHIP
Kirsten Poler
President, and Legacy Fund Committee Member
Kirsten is a trusts and estates attorney who practiced at Palmer & Dodge and Wellesley College before relocating to London with her family. Upon her return in 2018, Kirsten has focused on working with her community, joining the Conservation Commission, the Historical Commission and the Bellforge in addition to MFi. Kirsten also serves on the boards of the Trustees of Reservations, the Coastal Maine Botanical Gardens and the Amherst College Mead Art Museum. Kirsten is a graduate of Amherst College and Columbia Law School.
Abby Marble
Founder, Treasurer, and Legacy Fund Committee Member
Abby has been MFi Treasurer since its inception in 2001. Abby has held many leadership positions in town from the Medfield Food Cupboard to the Warrant Committee to the Lyme Disease Committee. Abby is also a pet therapy volunteer at Compassionate Care Hospice. Abby has a MBA in Entrepreneurship and Finance from Babson College.
Leanne LaBelle
Clerk
Leanne joined the MFi Board in 2005. Previously, she served as the Director of Marketing and then the Director of Operations of a non-profit in NY state, now known as Dig Safely New York. Leanne enjoys contributing to a greater cause, making good things happen, and the creative, positive energy of volunteering with MFi.
Osler (Pete) Peterson
Founder, Director, and Legacy Fund Committee Member
Pete is an AV rated attorney for over 30 years practicing personal injury law. He has been a select board member since 2001, was formerly on the ZBA and ran Medfield Day for 4 years. Pete started the Medfield Night Fireworks and MFi Volunteer Awards. Pete served long stints on the board of Lasell University, Lasell Village, Beth-Israel Deaconess Hospital and Riverside Community Care. Pete attended BBN, Suffolk University law school as well as the Sorbonne.
Bonnie Wren-Burgess
Director
Bonnie has been a MHS English teacher since 2002. Bonnie has been very active in town as she was president of the Medfield Teachers Association, president of the Medfield Affordable Housing Committee, served on the Warrant Committee, Capital Budget Committee and the Charter and Bylaw Committee. Bonnie also worked with the Medfield League of Women Voters, the Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts. Bonnie’s first career was in advertising and marketing in Boston and London.
Betsy Marble
Director, and Legacy Fund Committee Treasurer
Betsy joined the MFi board in 2018. Prior to her retirement, Betsy spent her career in finance as a CPA with a specialization in Technical Accounting and SEC reporting. Betsy graduated from Colgate University with a concentration in Mathematics and a minor in Economics then went back to earn a MS/MBA in Financial Accounting from Northeastern University.
Meghan Foley
Director
Meghan graduated with degrees in mathematics and accounting from the University of Massachusetts. After graduation, Meghan pursed a career in accounting and finance, primarily in the retail space. Meghan currently serves as the Director of FP&A for Rue Gilt Groupe. She was very involved in her childhood church, the Unitarian Universalist Church in Swampscott, serving as its youth director for over a decade before moving to Medfield in 2018.
Pamela Bates
Director
Pamela is the chief operating officer at Shorelight, a Boston-based global education company partnering with top-ranked non-profit universities to build innovative programs. Pamela also serves on the Parent Board of the Medfield Children’s Center, volunteers for her alma mater Wheaton College (Norton) and as a mentor for Lead5050 focused on increasing opportunity for women in international education.
Matthew Parillo
Director
Matt is Director of Marketing for Suffolk University’s Sawyer Business School. Prior to joining Suffolk, Matt served in a variety of communications roles for Brandeis University. Matt has held leadership positions at The Walt Disney Company, Warner Media, Yahoo and various venture-backed start ups. Matt began his career at Bain and Company in Boston after graduating from Bowdoin College.
Newton Thompson
Director
Newton spent his 43 year career in financial services at Coopers & Lybrand, Bank of Boston, New England Life, State Street and the Federal Home Loan Bank of Boston. Newton’s volunteer efforts have included roles at the UCC as deacon and moderator, New Life Furniture Bank, Lowell Mason House and the Warrant Committee. Newton is currently a member of the Affordable Housing Trust Board. Newton has ridden and fund raised for 10 Pan Mass Challenges and 2 Alzheimer’s Memory rides. Newton graduated from Washington & Lee University and Columbia Business School. Newton also served in the US Air Force with the Connecticut Air National Guard.
Peter Fellman
Director
Peter attended Syracuse University earning a BS in Theatre and the Celebration Mime Theatre in Maine. He worked as a children's performer at The Children's Museum and Museum of Transportation. Peter earned a law degree from New England School of Law and practiced as a criminal law and consumer bankruptcy attorney. Peter has worked with many non-profits including Plugged-In Teen Band Program, Museum of Transportation and Waterville Valley Adaptive Ski Program for which he helped with grant writing.
Chris Cahill
Co-Chair Legacy Fund Committee
Chris is a graduate of Northeastern University and the Massachusetts School of Law. He is a partner at Twelve Points Wealth Management, an independent registered investment advisory firm located in Concord where he runs the Family Office Services practice. Chris is among a very select group of practitioners who are attorneys, Certified Financial Planners and Chartered Advisors in Philanthropy.
Todd Trehubenko
Co-Chair Legacy Fund Committee
Todd is an established commercial real estate professional who is currently Executive Managing Director at M&T Realty Capital Corporation. Prior to that, Todd was a vice chariman in CBRE’s Debt and Structured Finance group. Todd volunteers his time and expertise chairing the Medfield State Hospital Development Committee. Past community positions include MFi Director and Affordable Housing Trust. During his free time, Todd enjoys playing drums in local band Third Rail.
Mike LaBelle
Legacy Fund Committee Member
Mike serves as Executive Vice President, Chief Financial Officer and Treasurer of BXP. His primary responsibilities include overseeing finance, capital markets, accounting, investor relations, tax, internal controls, treasury, cash management and financial planning. He is also involved in the structuring and approval of the company's new investments. Mike holds a BS in Economics from the University of Colorado.
Tim Borchers
Legacy Fund Committee Member
Tim and his wife Ruth and 8 kids have been residents of Medfield for over 30 years. Tim has served on many BOD’s with causes he supports, like the Legacy Fund of MFI. A musician and outdoor enthusiast, Tim is the founder of Borchers Cusano Trust Law and Northeast Private Trustees based in Medfield. Tim specializes in estate planning, administration, and fiduciary services.
Elizabeth Coleman
Legacy Fund Committee Member
Elizabeth Coleman has 15 years of professional experience across the technology, consulting, education, and nonprofit sectors. She is currently a Senior Director at Keystone Strategy, an economic and technology consulting firm in Boston. Elizabeth holds a BA in Linguistics and History from Georgetown University and an MBA from Columbia University. Although a native Midwesterner, Elizabeth is now fully committed to New England and loves living in Medfield with her husband, Mike, and their three young children, Andy, Sam, and Will.
Robert Barrette
Legacy Fund, Investment Advisor
Bob has been a wealth management advisor at Merrill Lynch Wealth Management since 1991. He combines his decades of experience with the deep capabilities of Merrill to advise clients on the creation, growth, preservation and transfer of wealth. Bob is a 1990 graduate of Georgetown University and holds the Certified Investment Management Analyst designation awarded by the Investments & Wealth Institute and taught in conjunction with the Wharton School of Business. Bob, his wife, Michelle and their five children have called Medfield home for over 25 years.
Kenneth L. Manning
Director
Kenneth L. Manning is Professor and Department Chair in Political Science at the University of Massachusetts-Dartmouth. He holds a Ph.D. in political science and his academic research focuses upon American politics broadly, with a particular emphasis upon the judiciary. Ken is co-author of the book Judicial Process in America (Sage/CQ Press). He was formerly an adult leader in Boy Scouts Troop 89 (Medfield) and is currently serving as an elected member of the Medfield Board of Assessors. Ken and his wife, Marcia Robitaille, are "semi empty-nesters" as they have two adult children who are now in college.
Michael Kass
Director
Assistant Vice President, Michael Kass has over 20 years of Commercial Insurance Experience. After graduating from Wheaton College in 2001, Mike spent a year volunteering with the National Civilian Corps (AmeriCorps) out of Sacramento, CA. Upon finishing his year of service, Mike moved to Sonoma, CA and lived there with his wife for 5 years before moving back to Massachusetts. He now lives in Medfield and regularly attends sporting events for his two children. He loves to travel, loves food and the outdoors. You can regularly see Mike walking his two dogs around town and within local national parks.
